Things that you need are 3 pine boards, 144-by-6-by-1-inch, 10 pine boards, 36-by-6-by-1-inch, 5 pine boards, 96-by-6-by-1-inch, 12 sheets corrugated tin roofing, 3-by-3-feet, 2 iron columns, 96-by-6-by-1-inch and tape measure, chalk, 2-inch wood screws, anchor bolts, 1½-inch steel hex washer head screws and cordless drill. Once you are ready with them, these are the instructions.

Measure the deck to find the best width and length for a metal deck roof. For instance, assume the deck measures 8 feet deep and 12 feet wide from the outside railing edge to the wall. The roof will have the 144-by-96-by-96-inch exactly measurement.

For a roof over a dimensions’ deck other than 12 feet by 8 feet, then this means you are going to need in adjusting your measurements accordingly. Mark the deck with a parallel of line to the edge farthest from the house.

Mark 2 inches in line from the edge by using chalk. On this line, you can mark 6 inches in two spots from each deck end. Mark two pine boards with 144-by-6-by-1-inch along one 6-inch broad side in 5 lines, widthwise. Draw the marks starting from one end at 1 inch, 73 inches, 37 inches, 144 inches and 109 inches.

The last mark will be along the board’s end. Attach a 144-inch board but with no chalk marks onto the house wall 9 feet just above the deck by using a cordless drill and 2-inch wood screws. Attach a pine board with 96-by-6-by-1-inch to each line of chalk on the 144-inch boards. This is meant to connect the two 144-inch boards.

Screw these boards perpendicularly into the 144-inch boards. Use wood screws in 2-inch. These boards are the support boards of roof. Mark one board in 144-inch as the front of the metal roof frame and use chalk to write an F on the board.

Insert a pine board in 36-by-6-by-1-inch between the support boards. And 36 inches on the four sections’ front by using wood screws in 2-inch and a cordless drill. Insert another pine board in 36-by-6-by-1-inch between the 36 inches support boards from the first boards’ set by using 2-inch wood screws and a cordless drill.

Attach two columns made of iron, 96-by-6-by-1-inch in order to the marks on the deck edge by using a cordless drill and anchor bolts. Attach 3-by-3-foot sheets of metal to each frame section by using a cordless drill and 1½-inch steel hex washer head screws. The steel hex washer head screws are screwed into the corrugated waves’ tops of metal roofing material. This is meant so that able to prevent leaking through screw holes at the waves’ bottoms when rain falls. Noncorrugated metal panels seat into the adjacent pieces of grooves.

Attach the metal roof frame back to pine board in 144-inch on the wall by using 2-inch wood screws. Then you set the back board flat to against the board on the wall. Attach the metal roof frame front to the iron columns. The columns attach to the front bottom of the board on the edges’ end by using 2-inch wood screws.
